The 5th Annual Charity Canal Cruise, which was held on the Sunday,22 August,2010,was another successful and memorable fundraising event recently organised by the Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC). CIAC thanks all the parties who have taken part.

Cruising on the spacious Beauchamp barge, the participants feasted on a hearty Chinese meal (generously sponsored by Leong’s Restaurant),mooncake and snack.

The trip cruised along Regents Park,London Zoo,and made a return journey from Camden Lock.Geoffrey from Hi! Sushi at Camden Lock kindly took care of our participant’s dessert, various flavour ofice-cream. And there was a small surprise birthday
greeting for our ex-trustee Ms Christina Ting and our Tai Chi teacher Master Tang has given a traditional Chen-Style Tai Chi demonstration. The cruise ended with the exciting auction and raffle draw. Before the night finished, all participants brought home with them gifts which were kindly donated by Tourism Malaysia, Jury’s Inn and Body Shop.

The Chairman,Mr Edmond Yeo thanked the friends and supporters of CIAC who joined the Cruise and remarked that their support and donations to our fundraising events were crucial to help CIAC continues its charity work to the Chinese community as fundings are getting more difficult to obtain from the government.

CIAC was founded in 1982 and provides free legal advice and support to disadvantaged Chinese people living in the UK. Our services include immigration and employment legal advice, women’s support, refugees and asylum seekers’support.
